Brazilian students love Hungary
March 11th, 2014

Data published in February by Napi Gazdaság seems to support this claim. The Hungarian Rectors' Conference told the medium that according to their statistics, the country is pretty popular among Brazilian students. From the huge and distant Brazil, 1888 students have already arrived to Hungary, or to be more precise, this is the number of students who have been granted scholarship by the Hungarian government making it possible for them to study in the country. As Napi Gazdaság writes, students were selected by Capes, the agency responsible for higher education and research from among those who gave Hungary as their target country. The number of those, who wanted to study in Hungary, was in fact three times higher. Students spend a year there, and most of them started their studies at Hungarian universities in January 2014.
One of the greatest challenges for the students is of course to find an appropriate place to live, as that will be their home for almost a year. One of the most popular services in this area is run by Tower International, which helps hundreds of students every year in finding the suitable apartment they can comfortably spend the school year. The Hungarian Rectors' Conference says Hungary is the 10th most popular country in the world and the 7th in Europe among Brazilian youth. There is only on one country from which more students arrive to Hungary, Germany.
